They say that
We are all equal
Like billions of grains of sand
Washed up on a lonely beach
Each one similar to the next one
So why is it, John
That in our field of vision
You stand out
Like a flower in a desert .
That this ravaged,greedy world
Could have but just a miniscule
Of your beautiful qualities
Your humility and kindness
Your love for mankind and all things good
That this world could - that's just a dream
But you John - we can truly say
You were for real .
We know God has taken back your precious soul
Now resting in heavenly peace
We praise you for everything you gave
Your warmth and friendship
Not just to a favoured few
But to one and all
