ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT POSTING

Hi All
John Baptista da Silva lived such a wonderful life in Zanzibar. He was proud of his island and its history and above all he was a self made accomplished artist. It took only a few days on the island as foreign tourist to to be introduced to this iconic character who proudly gave talks on the history and the artefacts of Zanzibar. He has etched many of his expressions as an artist in water-colour and black and white sketches of Stonetown and was proud to explain the unique architecture with passion.
Now with his passing how can his legacy be kept? One way might be, with the agreement of his beloved, to set up a Foundation and Trust which would not only promote his life, but also inspire others. The Trust could catalogue his art work and the rare artefacts; it could document the galleries where his work was exhibited and it could be a register for the originals which could be all published on the web by the Trust. Is anyone interested in such a project?
If so let us hear from people who are interested to contribute their time an energy to such a project.
